Marriages!

I had been to my friend's brother's marriage. It was a good atmosphere with 'shehnai' buzzing in ears. The stage shined with costly decoration accompanied with costly made-for-marriage traditional clothes.

Lets call my friend 'N'.

So, on the D-day of N's brother she and her whole family gleamed with happiness. Since she is my childhood friend I have known all of her family and her personal issues. Well, families whatever may happen never let people know if there is an issue going on. On any other day I always sensed the tension. But this day it all seemed to vanish. The rants seemed to dissolve into the chants of panditji, the wrinkles got converted into smile lines, the tears diminished into beads of the scintillating saris and worries collapsed into happiness of the two souls getting married.

When i met N backstage, she was happy that i made it to the marriage. She looked like a pretty damsel. Her eyes radiated excitement and joy was inevitable on her face.

The pre and post marriage arrangements brings both families together but it also fevicols a family's inner issues. Thats what festivals and occasions like marriages do. They give you days of recreation and joy. Happy Marriages!
