What if I was a Homosexual?

Human behavior is an ocean where there is a scope of new explorations every now and then. There are such unfathomable concepts that they force us to rethink about our perceptions about the world. In the advanced world of science and technology where every phenomenon is given a scientific reason and all the existence has a history known. I ponder that do we actually know everything? If we talk about philosophy and human emotions, we have well defined human expressions where some of them are called grief, happiness, sadness etc but still some people in our own families are difficult to understand.

We say that being under a good government makes country prosperous. But according to the evidence given by great prosperous countries good government makes sure that people follow rules. When we say rules, we should understand that we are the Brahma and Shiva of them. It is the people who have the power to make and break rules. These rules are temporary and last for only the time that we want it to be. What I mean to say is human beings are not made to follow rules, we are so complex that we constantly need revival in rules and time to time need reforms in government policies. So, the prime rule which asks us to follow the rules can never apply to us.

We also have the tendency to disapprove of any new thing introduced to us. We have known to dislike the interference of machines in our day-to-day lives. We read articles about how smartphones have the capability to destroy healthy sperms in men and today every pocket has a smartphone. One such topics is Homosexuality which brought out the term Homophobia. People think its not-natural and its against religion and God's wishes. A few years back the concept of homosexuality was a taboo and now there is a world wide support for it. Naturally the more developed set of people in developed countries understand the concept, but in developing countries like India people still think that it is against nature.

Why does having sex with other's wife, other's husband, a minor, a prostitute justified and same-sex sex not? Why does love for gadgets, cars, clothes and pets not not-natural?
It will take some time for some people to fathom the boundaries of human world. Sometimes I feel like we strangers in our own world, like there was a memory deletion for all of us and we understand our own bodies and souls one by one each step carefully directed to make us more human. We can put it in such a way that some have already crossed the Ozone layer surpassing Earth's boundaries and some stay below and speculate the very own existence of space ships and other planets.

Some questions tingle my own curiosity. Who told us to love the opposite sex? Your parents and society. That is how society works, isnt it? Society tells us the norms, those who follow become the society and those who do not are an outcast. But then the zombies eat human beings to create their own society but are killed by humans. C'mon humans, we need to give them some rights! Well, coming back to the topic, who said that the love for your school time best buddy(same-sex) is friendship and best buddy(opposite sex) is love? Society, right? Or did anyone of us read the divine book written by God himself stating such rules? By saying this I do not mean to say that all of us have a homosexual side. But a person who has a homosexual side when being called as crazy or unnatural creates a boundary to human being's ultra dynamic behavioral area, which is again unnatural. It means we are trying to limit ourselves and human beings are limitless creatures.

Well, since human brains are very complex, every person carries a thought of his own. So, giving the freedom to think and live on your own terms is logical and a birth right for everyone. When the critics of homosexuality criticize, they have all that freedom. But criticism added with making fun of those homosexuals and treating them as different snatches those fundamental rights from them. Why? I ask. How about adopting a life long funda to live and let live. If I was a homosexual in my country India, I would have never spoken about it. If I did speak about it, no one would believe it. If they believed they would take me to a psychiatrist. If my friends and other people came to know, they would stare at me whenever I passed by and imagine my sex life making fun of it. I would find it very difficult to find a partner. I would need someone who is independent and can migrate with me to a country where the law permits same-sex marriage. After I leave my country my family and friends will be left aghast. They would ask me to never show my face again. My life will be a living hell.

I would rather act like a heterosexual than to create so many problems. Maybe that is what so many of them go through. This burden can make them feel paralyzed for life long.

Well, we do not have to worry because people will understand. Even if they do not, many will come out of their closet and change the way the world thinks. Then someday we will be proud and liberal human beings. Someday we will get ready to make a trip to Mars as our school picnic. Someday! :D
